Alibaba Cloud, China’s cloud computing leader, has launched a cloud computing joint venture with Saudi Telecom Company (STC) in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia on May 24.

The other partners of the joint venture also include eWTP Arabia Capital, Saudi Company for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI) and Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE).

Alibaba Cloud has established a local team in Riyadh to work on a number of cooperation projects with local governments.

In August 2021, Alibaba Cloud announced to cooperate with the Saudi Tourism Authority to help it improve the digital experience of tourists in cloud infrastructure and databases.

Founded in 2009, Alibaba Cloud has expanded overseas in cloud computing and artificial intelligence in recent years offering services to enterprises, developers, and governments organizations around the world.

Alibaba Cloud’s overseas market jumped more than 10 times in the last three years, ranking first in Asia-Pacific region and  expanding to the Middle East and Europe, the company said.
