iFLYTEK(科大讯飞), best known for its voice recognition technologies, set up an automobile tech company in eastern China’s Jiangsu Province to step up its development in the automobile industry.

Tianyancha, China’s corporate registration information platform, shows that Jiangsu Yixing Zhilian Automobile Technology was established recently with a registered capital of RMB100 million ($14.91 million). The company is indirectly wholly owned by iFLYTEK.

Its business scope covers engineering, technical research and experimental development, AI basic software development, IC, sales of electrical accessories for new energy vehicles, and instrumentation repair.

Founded in 1999 and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2008, iFLYTEK has well established itself in voice recognition and machine learning. It has covered the automotive business for a long time. It released products and solutions for automobile manufacturers with its Feiyu system. Earlier this year, it signed up Wuxi Economic Development Zone and landed there its “iFLYTEK Automotive Intelligent Driving Technology Headquarter”.

iFLYTEK’s performance report shows that its smart car system is installed in more than 1200 car models, with more than 39 million pre-installed vehicles by the end of 2021.
