Chinese search giant Baidu officially released its industrial-grade superconducting quantum computer “Qianshi”(乾始) that integrates quantum hardware, software platformsand applications.
Baidu's CTO Wang Haifeng announced it on August 25 at the 2022 Quantum Developer Conference in Beijing.
The company also introduced the world’s first all-platform quantum hardware-software integration solution named “Liangxi”(量羲), which provides access to various quantum chips via mobile app, PC, and cloud.
The company’s breakthrough marks a major milestone in the development of quantum computing, an industry insider pointed out.
Wang Haifeng said that releasing the above products will help promote quantum technology from laboratory research to industrialization.
Quantum computing is a rapidly-emerging technology that harnesses the laws of quantum mechanics to solve problems too complex for classical computers. It uses a combination of bits to perform specific computational tasksl at a much higher efficiency than their classical counterparts, according to industry knowledge.
