China’s semiconductor output was 193.8 billion units from January to July, a year-on-year decrease of 8%, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on August 30.
From January to July, the added value of electronic and information product manufacturing of enterprises above the designated size in China increased by 9.8% year-on-year. The growth rate exceeded that of industrial and high-tech manufacturing by 6.3 and 3.9 percentage points, respectively.
China’s mobile phone output hits 863 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 3.6%, including 665 million units of smartphones, a year-on-year decline of 2.9%. The shipment of microcomputer equipment was 246 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 5.2%, data from MIIT showed.
In addition, according to China's customs statistics, from January to July, the country exported 104 million laptop computers, down 17% year-on-year. Its mobile phones exportation dropped by 11.5% to 470 million, and integrated circuits exportation was 164.7 billion units, down 7.7% year-on-year.
