China imported 4,226 sets of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, with a value of RMB14.18 billion ($1.98 billion), a decrease of 39.8% and 17.5%, respectively, year on year, said updated data from China’s State General Administration of Customs on November 18.
Among them, “equipment and devices for manufacturing semiconductor devices or ICs” numbered 995 sets, down by 16% year on year, with a value of RMB10.15 billion ($1.42 billion), up by 6.5% year-on-year.
From January to October this year, China imported 65,089 sets of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, with a value of RMB166.16 billion ($23.18 billion), down by 10.1% and 7.8%, respectively, year on year.
Among them, the imports of “equipment and devices for manufacturing semiconductor devices or ICs” numbered 14,585 sets and were valued at RMB106.8 billion ($14.90 billion), up by 10.9% in quantity but down by 4.1% in value compared with the same period last year, showed data from the Chinese government organ.
