(JW Insights) Feb 3 -- The production value of the integrated circuit industry in Suzhou Industrial Park, a major semiconductor industry cluster in east China’s Jiangsu Province, reached RMB 80.4 billion($11.8 billion) in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 14%. The output value of the three core sectors (IC design, manufacturing, packaging and testing) hit RMB 48.1 billion($7.1 billion), the local government announced on February 3.
Currently, the Park has formed a comprehensive integrated circuit industry chain covering “design, manufacturing, packaging and testing”, special equipment, and materials. It gathered 115 established semiconductor enterprises, including Triductor(创耀科技), China Wafer Level CSP(晶方半导体), and JL Tech(京隆科技).
Suzhou Industrial Park has set up the mechanism to promote the industry by introducing effective policies, consulting with IC and nanotech companies, as well as venture capitals.
In May 2022, the Park also issued plans and several measures to attract IC companies and established a special fund. The Park’s goal is to hit the RMB100 billion($14.74 billion) threshold in the production value of the integrated circuit industry by 2025, the local government said.
