(JW Insights) Feb 10 -- Chinese smartphone giant OPPO won 8.6% market share in global smartphone shipments in 2022 with 103.3 million units, ranking fourth, according to IDC’s latest Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker.
The company has gained a 13.8% market share in China’s foldable screen market, ranking third, with the outstanding performance of the Find N series.
OPPO released the new foldable phones Find N2 and Find N2 Flip last December. Although the Find N2 series was launched year end, their sales have outperformed the previous hit Find N.
The foldable screen market bucked the trend of the sluggish demand worldwide for mobile phones with shipments hitting new highs repeatedly in 2022.
IDC said in the fourth quarter of 2022, China's single-season shipments of foldable screen products exceeded 1.1 million units, and the annual shipment reached nearly 3.3 million units, surging 118% over the last year.
