(JW Insights) Apr 23 -- Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi established a robotics company with a registered capital of RMB50 million ($7.2 million) on April 21, showed Qichacha, a provider of Chinese corporation data and due diligence platform.

Its businesses cover the research and development of intelligent robots, AI software, AI theory and algorithm software, and the manufacturing of electronic components.

The company is 100% controlled by Beijing Xiaomi Intelligent Technology, a subsidiary of Xiaomi Communication Technology, according to Qichacha.
