(JW Insights) Jul 28 -- China's Ant Group ranked first with 3,806 security technology patent families in the top ten applicants as of April 2023, said a recent report titled "Security Technology Patent Analysis Report" from IPRdaily.

The top 10 applicants have a total of 25,572 patent families. IBM and Huawei ranked second and third, with 3,545 and 3,433 security technology patent families, respectively.

Others among the top ten are Tencent, China's State Grid, Microsoft, ZTE, Intel, ICBC, and China Mobile. Chinese applicants account for more than half of the top ten.

The main innovation sites of security technology patents are in China and the United States, of which China accounts for 54.4% and ranks first in security technology patents layout globally, said IPRdaily.
