China’s data science platform DataCanvas secures $41 million in series D1 round of financing

(JW Insights) Oct 8 -- DataCanvas(九章云极), a Beijing-based one-stop platform for data science use, completed recently an RMB300 million($41 million) series D1 round of financing. 

Participants in this financing round included the CEC Fund under China Electronics Corporation, People’s Capital, Z&Y Capital, and others.

In June 2023, DataCanvas announced an upgrade to its product system, releasing multiple products such as DataCanvas Alaya Large Language Model and DingoDB Multi-Modal Vector Database, forming the “Artificial Intelligence Fundamental Software” and “DataPilot” product system. 

The company not only offers various choices of configurations and parameters but also provides to users in a “white-box” form. This allows users to access large language model technology while maximizing their autonomy.

DataCanvas has established an intelligent computing center and, based on the advantages of artificial intelligence fundamental software products, will provide users with integrated “algorithm+computing power” services. In the future, it will focus on customers’ AI upgrade needs, implement the “cloud within a cloud” strategy, comprehensively layout algorithm construction, and accelerate the deployment of the multi-modal large language model industry, according to the company.

Founded in 2013 and based in Beijing, DataCanvas leverages data analysis and AI capabilities to service clients in various industries such as finance, transportation, and IT.
