Jidu Auto (集度汽车), a Chinese EV startup backed by Chinese tech giant Baidu and automotive leader Geely, established a new company Jidu Auto Service (集度汽车服务) in central China's Wuhan with registered capital of RMB700 million ($100.51 million), according to the information revealed in China's enterprise data service platform Tianyancha (天眼查), JW Insights reported on December 28.
Jidu Auto Service will engage in new EV and automobile sales, EV charging infrastructure operation, auto parts and accessories manufacturing and tram production, according to Tianyancha.
Founded in 2021 with a registered capital of RMB 2 billion ($290 million), the Shanghai-based Jidu Auto mainly focuses on new EV and battery swap equipment sales, and motor vehicle manufacturing, among others.
The company aims to develop the world's top autonomous driving and human-computer interaction technologies, creating revolutionary automotive robots with emotion and intelligence, said the JW Insights report.
