(JW Insights) Jun 20 -- AMEC (中微公司Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment Inc. China), a leading Chinese semiconductor equipment maker, set up its Guangzhou company on June 17, JW Insights learned.

Zhao Guosheng, Secretary of the Zengcheng District Party Committee, said that AMEC Guangzhou is a key project which will further fill the gap in the pan-semiconductor equipment manufacturing industry in Guangdong Province. It is strategically significant for the development of the IC and display industries in Guangzhou, and even the entire Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Founded in 2004, Shanghai-based AMEC has produced outstanding micro-fabrication equipment which has been adopted by global IC and LED chip-makers. It went public in 2019 on the STAR Market of the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
