SEMI China has established the Information & Control Standards Committee, indicating more internationalized practice in China’s semiconductor equipment and material communities.

Clare Liu, Deputy General Manager of Kxware Information Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd (珂矽), applied to SEMI North American Regional Standards Committee to establish the Chinese organization on behalf of the Chinese members. The SEMI North American Regional Standards Committee unanimously approved the application in late September.

Apart from this newly established committee, SEMI China also set up PV Standards Committee and SEMI China Compound Semiconductor Standards Committee nearly ten years ago. These SEMI Standards Committees actively promote the discussion and formulation of international standards, provide global technology exchange platforms, and push forward new and existing markets efficiently and profitably.

The SEMI Global Information & Control Committee is co-chaired by Ding Xianfeng, former CTO of Alibaba Cloud IoT BU (阿里云IoT事业部), Lu Lingzhi, Chairman and CEO of FA software (Shanghai) Co., Ltd (上扬软件), and Clare Liu. The committee members are from the leading semiconductor manufacturing, packaging, equipment companies, and smart solution suppliers in China. They include SMIC, Yangtze Memory Technologies, JCET Group, NAURA Technology Group, SMEE, AMEC, Cimetrix, Alibaba, Kxware, FA software, Schneider, Amkor, Silan Microelectronics, Glorysoft, Semi-tech group, Dingge Industrial Software.

The SEMI China Information & Control Standards Committee plans to establish China's first working group on the adaptation and application of the GEM300 standard in the back-end packaging and testing process.
