Japanese testing equipment maker MJC signed to set up probe cards R&D base in Jiaxing of eastern China’s Zhejiang Province

The Japanese company MJC signed in late October to establish its R&D and production base for semiconductor tester probe cards in Jiaxing of eastern China’s Zhejiang Province.

The project, designed with an annual output of 720,000 units, is located in Jiaxing’s Science & Technology Town.

Listed on Tokyo Stock Exchange, MJC (Micronics Japan Co., Ltd.) was established in 1970. It is a world-renowned semiconductor/LCD testing equipment and systems manufacturer. The company has a subsidiary - MJC Microelectronics (Kunshan) Co., Ltd.(昆山麦克芯)in Kunshan of eastern China’s Jiangsu Province. Recently MJC increased its investment in China.

Jiaxing Government established Jiaxing Science and Technology Town in 2003. It has made progress in attracting projects and manufacturers of raw materials, device design, manufacturing, packaging, and testing in recent years.

According to the Jiaxing Technology Town executives, up to now, over 100 companies in the microelectronics industry chain have settled down in the tech town, with a total industrial output value of RMB 20.38 billion ($3.19 billion).
