The U.S. Commerce Department announced an Unverified List (UVL) on Monday, restricting 33 Chinese entities from receiving U.S. exports. And unprecedentedly, there is a clear guidance of how to request for removal from the list. What about the various lists U.S. had come up with in the past? Is there a standard process for those entities to get off the list? JW Insights spoke with Paul Triolo, Practice Head of Geotechnology at Eurasia Group. Triolo focuses on global technology policy issues, ICT regulatory issues, and emerging areas. He has served in senior positions within the US government for more than 25 years, and was the lead drafter for a number of national estimates on China's rise as a science and technology (S&T) and industrial policies.
