The Suzhou Automotive-Grade Semiconductor Industry Research Institute will conduct in-depth research in intelligent sensing, advanced assisted driving, vehicle intelligent interaction, and third-generation semiconductor high-power devices.

The institute is jointly run by China Wafer Level CSP, the founding team, Suzhou Industrial Technology Research Institute, and Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee.

The institute said its objective was to form an industrial cluster of related technologies and projects and become a domestic-leading and international first-class technological research institution for automotive semiconductor industrialization, one of the largest automotive-grade chip packaging and verification application bases in China, and the largest talent training center for automotive-grade chip packaging in the Yangtze River Delta.

The institute consists of three research centers for advanced packaging of automotive ICs, the interactive intelligent vehicle lighting system, and the gallium-nitride high-power module technology.
