(JW Insights) Oct 16 -- China's mobile phone exports in September numbered 83.545 million units, with a value of RMB115.02 billion ($15.97 billion), a month-on-month increase of 29.4% and 124.9% respectively, showed data released by the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) on October 13.
China's mobile phone exports in August registered 64.567 million units, with a value of RMB51.15 billion ($7.10 billion), said GACC.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo wrote on his X account that the Chinese mobile phone market will pass the bottom and is expected to resume growth. During the National Day holiday, mobile phone sales in China increased significantly by about 15% yearly, and mobile phone shipments in the last quarter of 2023 are also expected to grow again. Android brands halted price-cutting competition, and costs have also dropped compared with the past few years, benefiting brand owners' profits.
