As Trump administration granted more supports for rare earth mining business, it seems the U.S. is starting to catch up with rare earth production. However, James Kennedy, President of ThREE Consulting, is skeptical on the economic potential of these rare earth projects, including Mountain Pass, the largest rare earth mine in the U.S. He’s worried that these projects could bring more problems and worsen the shortage in America. Mr. Kennedy has worked with the Pentagon for 12 years and is currently working with members of the congress on a bipartisan solution to the rare earth crisis.
