China's IC industry sales reached RMB410.29 billion ($63.3 billion) in the first half of 2021, representing a 15.9% year-on-year increase, according to the latest release by China Semiconductor Industry Association (CSIA).
From January to June 2021, sales of China’s IC design sector reached RMB176.64 billion ($27.25 billion), an increase of 18.5% year-on-year; the sales of the manufacturing sector was RMB117.18 billion ($18.08 billion), up 21.3%; while the sales of IC packaging and testing sector up 7.6%, reaching RMB116.47 billion ($17.97 billion).
The growth rate of China's IC industry sales was slightly lower than that in the first quarter, according to CSIA statistics released on August 12.
Meanwhile, according to China Customs statistics, China imported 312.33 billion integrated circuits units from January to June 2021, a year-on-year increase of 29%. The value of the IC imports was $197.88 billion, a 28.3% increase, the country’s IC export in the period was 151.39 billion units, surging 39.2%, with the value at $66.36 billion, a year-on-year increase of 32%.
