Chinese smart device maker OPPO staged a ceremony to officially launch its Innovation Demonstration Smart Factory in southwest China's Chongqing earlier this month.

The ceremony also celebrated OPPO (Chongqing) Intelligent Ecological Science and Technology Park, with its output value exceeding RMB30 billion ($4.7 billion).

Chongqing Intelligent Ecosystem Technology Park is OPPO's important deployment in the southwestern region, integrating intelligent manufacturing, automated storage, and hardware R&D.

OPPO, headquartered in Dongguan, southern China's Guangdong Province, progressed with autonomous driving technology- 5G+MEC+AI. It will accelerate applying AGV (automated guided vehicles) in smart warehouses and production workshops.

In recent years, OPPO has vigorously increased its investment in automation and digitalization to improve product quality and create an efficient global supply chain. The company has established three stereoscopic warehouses in Dongguan. The second stereoscopic warehouse in Chongqing will begin construction in 2022.

OPPO said it would adopt 5G, high-resolution industrial vision, edge-cloud collaboration, industrial AR/VR, and big data in its electronics manufacturing.
