China's AI computing startup Shanghai Denglin Technology Co., Ltd. (登临科技) announced that it had got a new round of strategic financing recently and it would use the funds to increase the R&D input on GPU based products, further strengthening its leading position in China's high-performance AI computing technology and market.
This round of investors includes Qualcomm Ventures, Forebright Capital, Silicon Harbour Capital and a few other existing shareholders. No exact amount of the raised funds is disclosed.
Denglin Technology was established in 2017 in Shanghai and its core team members boast rich experience in GPU design in world-renowned IC companies. It set up offices in Beijing, Chengdu, Hangzhou, and the U.S's Silicon Valley.
According to its press release, Denglin is the first company in China that has built a cloud-based AI computing platform with GPU as its core technology through independent innovation. It involves organic cooperation of high-efficient Tensor engine and programmable GPGPU engine to provide universality and high efficiency. Meanwhile, it uses hardware directly compatible with the CUDA (Computing Unified Device Architecture) and opens a new way for commercializing GPGPU products in China.
Goldwasser is the first product of Denglin Technology's GPU+ series. It is the first mass-produced GPGPU high-performance general AI accelerator chip in China and can be used in many scenarios, Denglin says on its website.
The products have been adopted by dozens of leading companies in smart city and the Internet markets for different application scenarios from edge to cloud. The company is experiencing explosive growth.
