Established in Wuhan in July 2016, YMTC is an IDM semiconductor company focusing on the design and manufacturing of 3D NAND flash memory with complete memory solutions. The company’s products and solutions also include embedded memory solutions, consumer and enterprise SSDs, which are widely used in mobile devices, consumer electronics, computers, servers, data centers.
YMTC is the first IDM company in the Chinese mainland to achieve mass production of 64-layer 3D NAND. Its wholly-owned subsidiary Wuhan Xinxin focuses on NOR Flash memory as a supplement to YMTC’s memory product portfolio.
The company has achieved a global market share of nearly 1% as of the end of 2020. If calculated according to the planned production capacity of YMTC, it is expected that its global market share will reach 6% in 2025, according to the Beijing-based investment bank Minsheng Securities.
