Biren Technology (壁仞科技), a Shanghai-based computing chip startup, announced that its first general-purpose GPU chips, the BR100 series, were successfully tested on March 31.

The company said that the BR100 series has the strongest computing power among general-purpose GPU chips in China. It is developed based on Biren Technology's original chip architecture and adopts a mature 7nm process. The BR100 series also combines several cutting-edge chip design, manufacturing, and packaging technologies including Chiplet, which has high computing power, energy efficiency, and versatility.

Zhang Wen, founder, chairman, and CEO of Biren Technology said, “This is just the first step in our journey. In the future, I will lead my team for continuous product innovation and breakthroughs, and build an internationally competitive hard tech company. At the same time, we will provide powerful computing support for the development of China's digital society.”

The testing and adjusting work of the BR100 series is progressing smoothly. After finishing the relevant follow-up work, the computing products equipped with the BR100 series will be officially launched to the market.

Founded in 2019, Biren Technology focuses on original general-purpose computing systems, related software, and hardware platforms, providing integrated solutions for intelligent computing. The company has completed multiple rounds of financing totaling almost RMB5 billion ($786 million) from leading Chinese investors.
