Chinese leading wafer supplier Poshing Electronics (普兴电子)in Shijiazhuang of northern China’s Hebei Province is expanding its production and expects to reach an annual production capacity of 3 million 8-inch epitaxial silicon wafers and 360,000 6-inch silicon carbide epitaxial products, the local Shijiazhuang Daily reported.

Hao Dongbo, Poshing’s deputy general manager, said that his company’s expansion project is a critical project for Hebei Province in 2022 and is scheduled to be completed in September.

Founded in 2000, Poshing Electronics is a subsidiary of the state-owned China Electronics Technology Group. With total assets of RMB540 million ($84.71 million), it’s leading the silicon epitaxy industry in China with 31 invention patents and technologies of advanced international levels.

The first phase of Poshing Electronics’s new project is to construct production workshops, office R&D buildings, and power stations, covering a total construction area of 70,000 square meters with an investment of RMB500 million ($78.46 million). The project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in September 2022.

Poshing Electronics will purchase 392 sets of equipment for epitaxial production, cleaning, and inspection, reaching an annual production capacity of 3 million 8-inch silicon epitaxial wafers and 360,000 6-inch silicon carbide epitaxial products.

Hao said previously that with favorable governmental policies, Poshing developed the silicon carbide epitaxy business for the third-generation semiconductor and invested RMB1.67 billion ($262.07 million) in its epitaxial material project.
