onsemi applied to the Shanghai Municipal Commission for Economy and Information to resume work at its global distribution center in Shanghai(CGDC), which closed as a result of the citywide lockdown. The application has been approved, the local business media outlet the Paper reported on April 25.
On April 18, onsemi issued a notification letter stating that it was forced to close its CGDC in Shanghai to follow the stringent measures in the city, affecting its business. The letter also mentioned that its products produced in China had been diverted to other Onsemi sub-districts, such as distribution centers in Singapore and Manila, Philippines, to ease capacity constraints and help lower the impact.
onsemi has three factories in China, located in east China's Suzhou, south China's Shenzhen, and Leshan in southwest China's Sichuan. The CGDC in Shanghai is its intensive center for storing and distributing the products of the three factories, acting as a product distribution hub in China.
