(JW Insights) Oct 24 -- The number of foreign-funded computer, communication, and other electronic equipment manufacturing enterprises above designated size in China showed an upward trend from 4,397 in 2019 to 4566 in 2021, with an average number of employees of 427.7 in 2021, reported JW Insights.

The scale of foreign investment utilized in the electronic information manufacturing industry has rebounded significantly in 2021, with a year-on-year growth of 14.2%, according to data from the Ministry of Commerce.

China will remove all restrictions on foreign investment in the manufacturing sector, China's President Xi Jinping told the third One Belt One Forum for International Cooperation on October 18, the official Xinhua News Agency reported.

The electronic information manufacturing industry is the industry that utilizes the largest amount of foreign investment among China's manufacturing industries. In recent years, the proportion of the scale of foreign investment used in the electronic information manufacturing industry to the scale of foreign investment utilized in the manufacturing industry in China has remained at around 20%.

The use of foreign investment in high-tech manufacturing sectors in the computer, communications, and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries has grown steadily. The proportion of actual foreign capital used in the integrated circuit manufacturing industry in the computer, communications, and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries has increased from 4.9% in 2011 to 11% in 2021. The percentage of that in smart consumer equipment manufacturing increased from zero to 6.4% in 2021.

The total assets of foreign-invested computer, communications, and other electronic equipment manufacturing enterprises above the designated size showed a gradual growth trend from 2012 to 2021, increasing from RMB2,803.11 billion ($383.87 billion) to RMB5,917.44 billion ($810.36 billion), with a compound growth rate of 7.76%.
