China’s passenger car sales in June increased by 22.7% year-on-year, as logistics and supply chain situations in the industry eased

The sales of China’s passenger cars in June this year reached 1.944 million units, an increase of 22.7% year-on-year and 43.5% month on month, according to the latest statistics by the Automobile Market Research Branch of China Automobile Dealers Association(CADA).

Based on an analysis by CPCA (China Passenger Car Association), June saw growth in the automotive market, as epidemic lockdown eased during the month, local logistics and supply chains continued to improve, the production and market resumed, and new policies facilitated consumption.

Among the June sales, the new energy passenger car sales increased by 130.5% year-on-year and 47.8% month-on-month, making up for the sales losses in April and May to a certain extent.

From January to June, the cumulative sales volume was 9.261 million, a year-on-year decrease of 7.2%.

The companies with retail sales exceeding 100,000 vehicles in June include FAW Volkswagen, BYD, SAIC Volkswagen, Changan Automobile, and Geely Automobile, of which FAW Volkswagen topped with sales of more than 200,000 vehicles.

The wholesale volume of the top 15 automakers was 1.635 million in the month, with a market concentration of 74.7%.

The June retail sales volume of the top 15 auto enterprises was 1.452 million, with a market concentration of 74.7%.
