Wang Peng, official from MIIT’s Information and Communication Department, released these information at the  press conference.

“5G + Industrial Internet” can build new infrastructure, application model and industry ecosystem by connecting people, machines, objects, and systems through 5G. This is conducive to accelerating the process of China’s new types of industrialization and promoting intelligent manufacturing in the country, said Wang.

Earlier this year, the Industrial Internet Innovation and Development Action Plan (2021-2023) issued by the MIIT has clarified to promote industrial digitization and digital industrialization with the help of Industrial Internet in the next three years.

There are now 45 major categories of the Chinese economy that have integrated the industrial Internet applied in industry bases and parks, and key enterprises. Their industry scale has passed RMB1 trillion ($1,479 billion), according to MIIT.
