German auto parts supplier Bosch officially inaugurated the Bosch Cross-Domain Computing Solutions (Shanghai) R&D Center in Shanghai’s Jinqiao district on November 22 to accelerate its intelligent driving and control R&D, JW Insights reported.
The total investment of the new R&D center exceeds RMB150 million($21 million), and the office area exceeds 10,000 square meters. More than 540 Bosch R&D personnel will conduct intelligent cockpit and advanced intelligent driving R&D in this center, according to Bosch.
The company set up the intelligent driving and control division in 2021, focusing on intelligent cockpit, intelligent driving, and smart network connection. Bosch’s cockpit domain controller platform, developed by its local R&D team, has been adopted by six major Chinese auto OEMs.
The auto parts supplier has mass-produced more than 200 ADAS(advanced driver assistance system) in the Chinese auto market. Its full-stack intelligent driving innovation platform is expected to enter mass production in 2023, said the JW Insights reports.
