China’s leading battery manufacturer Sunwoda (欣旺达) has started production of high energy density battery cells with more than 800 km endurance mileage on a single charge. The company revealed this on the interactive platform with investors of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on December 12.
However, the final products will be slight differences depending on the client’s requirements and the design of the entire pack, said Sunwoda.
The company’s advanced solid-state battery technologies include sulfide all-solid-state batteries with high-nickel positive electrodes and silicon-based/lithium metal negative electrodes, and new lithium-sulfur solid-state batteries.
Meanwhile, its sodium-ion battery samples have been tested and verified, and the launching plan will be determined according to customer demand, said the company.
Sunwoda has cooperated with many well-known domestic and international auto manufacturers such as Renault, Nissan, eGT. Meanwhile, it has obtained letter of intent from several automakers, including Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor, Dongfeng Motor, Geely, SAIC, SAIC MAXUS, SAIC-GM-Wuling Auto, and GAC.
Founded in 1997 and listed on the ChiNext Market of Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2011, the Shenzhen-based Sunwoda focuses on providing lithium-ion battery cells and modules.
