(JW Insights) Feb 27 -- Chinese smartphone makers OPPO and vivo announced a partnership with NIO, a Chinese EV manufacturer, to add digital keys to NIO’s vehicles in their smartphones on February 24.
OPPO has cooperated with more than 120 auto manufacturers, such as Tesla, NIO, Li Auto, and Xpeng for such a function.
Another Chinese phone maker, vivo, also announced that its smartphone’s digital key function had been deeply adapted to NIO. NIO owners can now use their vivo smartphones as senseless car keys by completing the necessary settings and getting the phone close to the car to unlock.
OPPO announced that its phones that are compatible with NIO vehiclesits include Find FN2 series, Find X5 series, Reno 9 series, and the OnePlus Ace series.
The list vivo phones that support keyless access to Nio vehicles includes X series, S series and iQOO series.
The digital key can allow car owners to unlock their car through smartphones and wearable devices. The technology is attracting more and more attention from car companies. Top-tier car companies including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Tesla, and Xpeng Motors are all introducing related technologies, according to industry experts.
