(JW Insights) Mar 10 -- China’s leading display maker BOE said the prices of LCD TV panels will rise across the board in March, with prices of certain large-size products up nearly 10%.
BOE told its institutional investors recently that the demand especially for the large-size TV market products will pick up in 2023, pushing up the demand for large-size LCD. As a result, the semiconductor display industry will return to normal seasonal fluctuations, citing data from a third-party consulting agency.
The company's flexible AMOLED completed the annual shipment target in 2022, and maintained a more than 30% growth rate compared with 2021. The proportion of high-end products increased significantly. However, overall shipment growth rate of this industry was lower than expected, because of weaker consumer electronics markets.
Meanwhile, the price of entry-level flexible AMOLED products dropped sharply, caused by the fierce low-price competition in 2022. The short-term performance of the flexible AMOLED business is under pressure from depreciation.
In 2023, the company will continue to increase the proportion of high-end AMOLED products, adopting more new technologies.
