(JW Insights) Apr 25 -- Vice Minister of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) Xin Guobin emphasized striving for technological breakthroughs in automotive chips, solid-state batteries, operating systems, and high-precision sensors, during his investigative tours of key enterprises in Shanghai during April 19-21.
“It is necessary to make effective policies to stabilize and expand automobile consumption, and promote the development of the new energy vehicle industry with greater efforts,” he said.
The tax reduction and exemption policies should be developed for car purchases after 2023 as soon as possible, as well as policies to accelerate the construction of battery charging and swapping facilities and EVs application in the public sectors, he added.
Xin also emphasized the necessity of building a service platform for sharing overseas policies, regulations, and standards to help deepen international cooperation and accelerate unification of certification standards.
