OPPO leads Android brands in China’s smartphone market

(JW Insights) Apr 27 -- China’s smartphone giant OPPO performed well in the Chinese smartphone market in Q1 2023, ranking first among Android brands with a market share of 18%. OnePlus, a subsidiary of OPPO, also ranked first among all brands with a growth rate of 210%, according to data from third-party research organizations.

Market research firm Sandalwood’s China e-commerce market platform monitoring data shows that sales of Android phones with a price tag of over RMB4000($578) grew by 22% year-over-year in Q1 2023. 

OPPO’s latest flagship, Find X6 Pro, launched on March 24, saw a 129% growth compared to its predecessor’s initial sales over the same period. Moreover, OPPO (including OnePlus) saw a significant surge in online sales, with a year-over-year increase of 49%.

This demonstrates the impressive performance of OPPO in several market segments. The brand has an established reputation for its technological innovation and design, making it increasingly well-received by consumers.
