(JW Insights) Jun 14 --The construction of an automotive MEMS pressure sensor chip and sensor project started in Tongcheng of Anqing City in eastern China's Anhui Province for Anhui Chntek Sensing Technology(安徽启泰传感科技), JW Insights learned.
A ground-breaking ceremony for the project was held on June 12.
With a total investment of RMB1 billion ($140 million), the project includes constructing clean room production facilities, an electronic R&D center, and supporting infrastructure. The project is expected to achieve an annual production value of RMB30 billion ($4.19 billion) and manufacture 30 million chips annually.
The Tongcheng-based Anhui Chntek Sensing Technology was established in March 2023 by Hunan Chntek Sensing Technology, a leading Chinese sensor chip IDM.
Anhui Chntek engages in the manufacturing of industrial control system devices, integrated circuits, and sales of electronic components and equipment, according to Qichacha, a provider of Chinese corporation data and due diligence platform.
