(JW Insights) Jun 25 -- China’s leading electronic and SiP manufacturing company USI (环旭电子) held a groundbreaking ceremony for its second factory in Poland, the company announced on June 21.
Founded in 2003 in Shanghai, USI is a subsidiary of ASE Group in the Taiwan region. The company provides design, miniaturization, material sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, and after services of electronic devices/modules for brand owners. It went listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2012.
USI anticipates that the new factory will be fully operational by the first quarter of 2024. The project will significantly increase USI's production capacity in Poland, allowing the company to better serve its customers and meet the growing demand in the market. It will create more than 1,000 jobs for the locals.
Marcin Fabianowicz, Managing Director responsible for Direct Investments in Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), said, "We hope that the presence of such an important investor for the industry as USI, and its direct association with holding company ASE Technology, will attract further investments to Poland and contribute to the development of the electronics and semiconductor industries, the key sectors for the Polish, European, and global economies."
Felix Timmermann, executive director of USI Poland, added, "Today, we are proud to be creating a milestone for USI's / AFG's customer service, showing our commitment to providing even better support in Poland and Europe."
