(JW Insights) Jul 20 -- Chinese leading new energy vehicle (NEV) startup NETA Auto (哪吒汽车) and Avnet, a leading global technology distributor, signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Shanghai on July 12.
According to the agreement, both parties will leverage their respective core strengths to deepen and elevate the collaboration in the field of NEVs, forming a long-term, stable, win-win strategic partnership.
Dong Hua, president of Avnet China, said Avent is committed to deepening its presence in the Chinese automotive market and continuously improving its collaboration with local automakers. By providing technical support and supply chain services, Avnet has assisted and facilitated NETA Auto's technological innovation, product iteration and upgrade, cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and timely vehicle delivery.
Avnet has worked with NETA Auto in intelligent driving, intelligent cockpit, intelligent gateway, electric propulsion, and next-generation supercomputing platforms.
China's new energy vehicles are leading the world. Neta Auto, one of the best suppliers, plays a role as a wind vane for the R&D and manufacturing of new energy vehicle industry, added Dong.
Peng Qingfeng, vice president of Neta Auto, said the cooperation with Avnet aims to provide a stronger guarantee for its R&D, production, and supply chain management by using Avnet's existing resource advantages.
Dong said Avnet welcomes local semiconductor manufacturers to go global in a press conference. The company can provide market access, technical support, and compliance services for Chinese semiconductor companies in the international market, added Cao Yuelong, vice president of marketing and communication of Avnet Asia Pacific.
In 2022, NETA Auto was among the top 10 Chinese domestic passenger vehicle brands for the first time by annual deliveries, and it was also the first local NEV startup to achieve yearly sales exceeding 150,000 units.
Founded in 1921, Avnet is headquartered in Arizona, US, with more than 15,000 employees globally.
