(JW Insights) Jul 21 -- China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and four other ministries issued a joint notice recently to collect pioneer VR application cases for promoting VR applications, JW Insights learned.

Cases will be chosen from ten sectors, including industrial production, smart city, cultural tourism, and emergency response. More replicable applications with advanced technology and remarkable results will be selected and promoted.

The notice has detailed the applications in industrial productions, involving energy saving and emission reduction. Those in smart cities include urban visual management and personalized smart life information services, especially applications in transportation, catering and shopping.

The selected cases will receive multiple supportive treatments and benefits. They will be promoted and reported in media and at events like the forthcoming 2023 World Conference on VR Industry. Their scaled applications will be carried out through pilot demonstrations and exhibitions. Local governments will provide policy support to these projects in terms of project approval, funding, and other resource matching.
