(JW Insights) Aug 2 -- Several AIGC-related apps were removed from the Apple App Store early in the morning of August 1, Pandaily reported.

The main reason for the removal of these apps is the upcoming “Interim Measures for the Management of Generative Artificial Intelligence Services” which will be implemented on August 15 by China's National Development and Reform Commission and six other government agencies. The removed apps were not sufficiently compliant in terms of data collection and usage, and it will take some time before they can be re-listed.

According to the Apple review information received by relevant app developers, there are corresponding regulatory measures for Deep Synthesis Technology (DST) and generative AI services (including ChatGPT). DST must meet licensing requirements for operation in China, including obtaining a license, said the Pandaily report.
