(JW Insights) Aug 11 -- Chinese Internet platform company Kunlun Group's subsidiary Skyworker Tech signed an agreement with the global metaverse leader Meta on cooperation in XR equipment products, said the company on August 11.
Skyworker Tech will develop the StarMaker VR version suitable for Meta Quest 2 and its iterative devices, said the agreement.
Skyworker Tech began to develop the StarMaker VR version in 2021. It ranked among the top 8 in the global FB XR competition with hundreds of developers this year.
Kunlun Group, headquartered in Beijing, was founded in 2008 and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2015. It is China's leading Internet platform company with business in the international market. It starts with web game development and publishing games globally and now manages overseas information distribution, metaverse platform Opera, Overseas social entertainment platform StarX, and others.
Kunlun Group has persisted in developing the XR metaverse and AI in recent years. The cooperation with Meta is the latest progress of its continuous product technology research and development since 2021. It marks that Meta has highly recognized its technology research and development in the XR field among the competition of global developers.
