China's power battery installed capacity jumps 33.3% in July

(JW Insights) Aug 11 -- China's installed capacity of power batteries reached 32.2GWh in July, surging 33.3% over the previous year but decreasing 2% month on month, according to data from China Automotive Battery Innovation Alliance (CABIA) on August 10.

About 10.6GWh of ternary batteries and 21.7GWh of lithium iron phosphate batteries were installed in NEVs in July, accounting for 32.8% and 67.2% respectively, up 7.4% and 51.1% over the previous year.

The top five companies ranked by installed capacity in July were CATL (13.47GWh, taking up 41.79%), BYD (9.35GWh, 29.01%), CALB, EVE Energy, and Gotion High-tech.

From January to July, China's total installed capacity of power batteries was 184.4GWh, climbing by 37.3% from a year earlier.

China's power battery production hit 354.6GWh in January-July, up 35.4% year on year. In July alone, production totaled 61GWh, increasing by 28.9% over the last year.
