(JW Insights) Aug 23 -- Chinese printer maker Ninestar (纳思达) filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and other related parties of the U.S. government for listing it on the entitylist, announced the company on August 23.
The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. Court of International Trade on August 22, requesting the court to declare adding Ninestar to the Xinjiang-related administrative decision is illegal and revoke the decision. It also filed a motion for a preliminary injunction with the U.S. Court of International Trade, requesting to suspend the decision's implementation promptly.
Founded in 2000, headquartered in Zhuhai, southern China's Guangdong Province, and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2014, Ninestar is a global printing and imaging company serving more than 150 countries and regions. According to its website, it has become the world's fourth-largest laser printer manufacturer.
Ninestar stated that it will continue to pay attention to and promote litigation matters, defending the interests of the company and the general public shareholders. The impact of this lawsuit on the company is subject to the outcome of the case. The effect of being added to the list on the company and its related subsidiaries' export business to the United States may continue to exist.
