(JW Insights) Oct 10 -- The accelerated server market in China hit $3.1 billion in the first half of 2023, logging a 54% growth compared to the same period in 2022, according to research firm IDC.
GPU servers continued to dominate the market, capturing an 88% market share valued at $3 billion. Non-GPU accelerated servers, including NPU, ASIC, and FPGA, accounted for 8% of the market share, with a growth rate of 17% year-on-year, reaching $200 million. These information come from IDC's latest report China Semiannual Accelerated Server Tracker for the first half of 2023.
In terms of vendor revenue, Inspur (浪潮), H3C(新华三), and Nettrix(宁畅) took the top three spots, occupying over 70% of the market share. Inspur, Lenovo, and Nettrix secured the top three positions in shipments, collectively holding nearly 60% of the market share.
The internet sector remained the largest purchaser, accounting for over half of the overall accelerated server market. The finance, telecommunications, and government sectors all enjoyed growth of over 100%.
IDC predicts that by 2027, the accelerated server market in China will reach $16.4 billion, with non-GPU servers accounting for over 12% of the market.
