(JW Insights) Oct 24 -- Chinese OLED display provider Visionox (维信诺) is leveraging multiple innovative technologies to make foldable smartphones slimmer with longer battery life and affordable prices.
Founded in 2001, Beijing-based Visionox provides display solutions for consumer electronics, industrial control instruments, and financial communications industries. It went public on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2010.
As a pioneer in the AMOLED industry, Visionox has been achieving new breakthroughs in screen thinness, low power consumption, and other aspects. Its technology enables a 30% reduction in screen thickness compared to traditional flexible screens, significantly reducing the screen's volume proportion. It has also developed various low-power consumption technologies to prolong the battery life of foldable screens.
Visionox has already established close partnerships with leading smartphone brands including Honor, ZTE, Nubia, OPPO, vivo, and Xiaomi, and has supplied screens for their flagship products, said the company.
Visionox is the supplier to Honor for its latest releases like Magic V 2, V Purse, and Magic Vs2.
Data shows that foldable screens are experiencing a rapid surge in popularity. Sales of foldable smartphones in the Chinese market reached 2.25 million units in the first half of this year, with an estimated annual sales exceeding 5 million units, surging 78%, according to CINNO Research.
Counterpoint predicts that global shipments of foldable smartphones will reach 55 million units by 2025 and are expected to surpass 100 million units by 2027.
