Geometry(几何汽车), a pure electric sub-brand of Chinese auto manufacturer Geely Group, announced on August 4 that it would adopt Huawei HarmonyOS intelligent cockpit system to “empower new cars and create a smart ecosystem.”
With access to Huawei’s intelligent cockpit ecosystem, Geometry plans to launch EV models for the mid-to-high-end market in the next five years.
Geely, a high-profile car maker with sharing holding in Volvo and Daimler, launched the premium EV brand Geometry in 2019 in Singapore. It is Geely Group’s third sub-brand after Geely and Lynk & Co.
On the day of the Geometry’s launch, the number of overseas orders for Geometry A, an electric compact sedan, exceeded 18,000, with nearly 10,000 orders in the Chinese market and more than 3,000 orders from Singapore.
Geometry has launched several models, such as Geometry A, Geometry A Pro, and Geometry C. However, in the following few years, the sales of Geometry cars were lower than expectations. According to the market data, from January to May this year, the sales of Geometry cars were 29,200 units. Geometry is a relatively nascent EV brand in the Chinese market. An industry analyst noted that the big-name Huawei’s HarmonyOS software is expected to scale Geometry’s sales trajectory up.
