China’s leading SiP module supplier USI(环旭电子) has started mass-producing SiP modules for smartwatches and can offer customized products, JW Insights reported.
The company shared this information in its investor relationship management platform of the Shanghai Stock Exchange recently, adding that, with its global layout of production capacity and operation, it has the flexibility to cope with the production capacity transfer of Apple's industrial chain.
Founded in 2003 in the Chinese mainland in Shanghai as a subsidiary of ASE Group in the Taiwan region, USI was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2012. It is a leading SiP module supplier that provides design, manufacturing, miniaturization, industrial software and hardware solutions, and material procurement, logistics, and maintenance Services for brand owners.
The firm also said it would increase investment in SiP modules and automotive electronics in the future to strive for more growth opportunities.
It said that major customers still occupy most of the current SiP market. The most anticipated application growth of major customers in the next few years will be in AR/VR products for which SiP modules are suitable. The company has shipped a small number of AR/VR-related SiP products this year.
The demand for WiFi6 and WiFi6E from customers other than major ones is growing rapidly, and WiFi7 modules are already under research and development. It is expected that in the second half of 2024, WiFi7 will enter the stage of large-scale commercial use, and the cost advantage of SiP modules will bring the company many new orders from Android brands, said the firm.
It also said that SiP has extensive application prospects in smart wearables. The products of major customers are positioned in the high-end market, with headphones, watches, and mobile phones forming an effective closed loop in health monitoring. Leading manufacturers of consumer electronics are actively developing their products. The application of SiP modules and miniaturized module products in these smart products will become more and more extensive, and the trend is unstoppable, added the firm.
