Peking University and the government of Wuxi, China’s major IC city in eastern Jiangsu Province, signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement on November 1 to establish Wuxi EDA Research Institute of Peking University in Wuxi High-tech Zone, reported Wuxi Press Release.

The institute will combine the design automation and computing advantages of Peking University’s School of Integrated Circuits, to develop EDA technologies and promote application research.
It will also serve as a platform to cultivate talents and emerging industries, driving the upgrade and innovation of the IC industry, and helping Wuxi become a world-class IC cluster.
Peking University is at the frontier of China’s scientific research and knowledge innovation. Wuxi and Peking University have collaborated in multiple fields including talent training and scientific research for a long time, said the report.
