China's leading fabless semiconductor firm Actions Technology (炬芯科技) wins "The Best Technology Breakthrough of the Year Award" for its Bluetooth audio chip ATS2831PX at the 2023 China Semiconductor Investment Alliance (CSIA) Annual Meeting & China IC Industry Award Ceremony held on December 17 in Hefei, eastern China's Anhui Province.

Actions' ATS2831PX chip is a highly integrated single-chip Bluetooth audio SoC with high sound quality and performance, as well as low latency and power consumption, according to CSIA announcement.

The ATS2831PX chip also integrates modules including Bluetooth radio frequency (RF) and baseband, power management unit (PMU), audio codec, and micro control unit (MCU). It is mainly used in various Bluetooth transmission and transceiver products, such as gaming headset dongle, wireless microphone, and walkie-talkie adapter.

Founded in 2014 and listed on Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2021, Actions Technology is based in Zhuhai, southern China's Guangdong Province. It mainly focuses on SoCs that power Bluetooth audio, portable multimedia, and intelligent voice interaction applications. Actions has developed a portfolio of IP involving Bluetooth communication, ADC/DAC, power consumption management, high-speed analog interface, and audio processing.

The Best Technology Breakthrough of the Year Award is designed to recognize companies that have continuously innovated and upgraded technologies to internationally advanced or domestically leading level. A total of 14 companies won the Best Technology Breakthrough of the Year Award this year.

Reviewed by over 100 members from CSIA and hundreds of CEO in the semiconductor industry, other winners include Bright Power (晶丰明源), Sizone (众硅科技), and Chaoyang Semiconductor (超旸半导体).
