Motorcomm(裕太微电子), a developer and manufacturer of high-speed wired communication chips, won the Best Innovative Product of The Year Award with its 2.5G Ethernet chip YT8821 series products. The award was presented at the 2023 China Semiconductor Investment Alliance (CSIA) Annual Meeting & China IC Top Award Ceremony held on December 17 in Hefei, eastern China’s Anhui Province. 

Fifteen companies received the Best Innovative Product of the Year Award, including SmartSens Technology(思特威), JLQ Technology(瓴盛科技), AMICRO (一微半导体), EPIC MEMS(开元通信).

Motorcomm’s YT8821 series chip supports 2.5GBASE-T (IEEE 802.3bz) and 1000BASE-T (IEEE 802.3ab) protocols with independent IP rights.

Wang Wenqian, the company’s secretary of the Board of Directors pointed out that YT8821 series of products can meet the application requirements of high-speed data transmission, such as WIFI6 routers, 5G terminal equipment, and high-end computers. The chip has been mass-produced, and the company is accelerating its introduction into the product line of top-tier domestic customers.

Founded in 2017, Motorcomm is based in Suzhou, east China’s Jiangsu Province, with R&D centers in Suzhou High-tech Zone and Shanghai Zhangjiang Science City.

Market research institution predicts that the shipment of automotive Ethernet chips will increase ten times from 2021 to 2025. In 2025, China’s automotive Ethernet chip shipments are expected to exceed 290 million pieces.

Motorcomm has introduced its automotive 100Mbps Ethernet chips, which have been used by leading Chinese leading car makers such as Changan, GAC, and BYD. It also launched Gigabit Ethernet automotive chip YT8011, which will be mass produced next year, according to Wang.
