China's National Technology Innovation Center of EDA landed in Nanjing, eastern China's Jiangsu Province, on January 28, reported JW Insights.
The center is jointly set up by Southeast University and Nanjing Jiangbei New Area. China's Ministry of Science and Technology officially approved the setup of the center in Nanjing on December 30, 2022.
The center aims to create the cooperation mechanism between EDA industry and academic communities over the span of five years. It will also become a platform for EDA product demonstration and talent development, according to Jiangbei New Area.
Nanjing Jiangbei New Area is one of the leading IC industry parks in Nanjing, and TSMC's fabs are located in the area to the north of the Yangtze River. With IC design as its core field, it has covered the industry chain in manufacturing, packaging and testing, special materials and equipment, and device applications. The area has gathered more than 600 upstream and downstream companies and more than half of China's top 10 chip design houses, said the JW Insights report.
